New Hampshire Trip!

Becky, Emily and I took a spontaneous trip to New Hampshire a couple months ago. We found out on August 11th that my brother Kris was going to be up there for almost 2 weeks starting on August 14th so we decided to go too. We packed up rather quickly the night of the 11th and we left around 10am on the 12th. Not to bad if you ask me! The drive was supposed to take 16 hours so we thought we would get there around 2am on the 13th but with all the construction and traffic problems we didn't get there until 4:30am. Emily did great the entire trip. We really didn't even know she was back there. She just played with her toys and listened to her little musical fish tank thing and slept every now and then. She only went potty when we stopped for gas, which was amazing to me. She got potty trained in April and this was our first long trip with her potty trained so I wasn't sure how it would go, but it was a big success!
When we got to Grandma and Grandpa's (Bapa) house Emily was so excited she wouldn't go back to sleep, so Grandma and Emily started their day at 4:30 in the morning. I am very grateful that Grandma was willing to stay up with her!

Around 10 or 10:30 Emily's early morning caught up with her and she fell asleep on the couch.

She slept for about an hour and a half while the rest of us got ready for the day.

These are a little out of order, but oh well. We went for a hike on the 21st to Cloud Land in the Franconia Notch. Emily was all for it at first but she tired out really fast and then all she wanted was to go back to the car. She missed her nap that day, what can I say...
This picture was taken before she got upset. Becky was showing her the water.

Kris and Dad eating their granola bars.

Kris taking a picture of me so that Mom could capture Kris doing what he loves to do. (Which is take pictures just in case you didn't figure that out!)

One of the family diners we had on the party mound at Aunt Sarah's house.
This is Emily with my cousin Greg's wife, Stephanie. Stephanie couldn't get enough of Emily and Emily loved talking to her and telling her all kinds of stories.

My cousin Nathan and his son Wyatt. Wyatt is exactly 2 months older than Emily.

This picture would have been better had I snapped it faster. All 3 geese were lined up with their necks outstretched toward Emily. They looked like there were going to run at her and attack! Too bad I took it after one of the geese broke ranks.

  1. How fun that you were able to visit family! It looks like you had a really good time. Every time I see pictures of Emily, I am amazed by her incredible hair. It is really something.
