Emily Rockin' Out!

Ok, so we really don't listen to this kind of music all the time but we wanted to get Emily dancing really good. She loves music with a beat and she gets so excited when we turn it on.

Our House!

Our beautiful living room! We only had to rearange it once before we got everything where we wanted it. We used to have the couch against the railing but Emily kept standing on the couch and trying to pull herself over the top. I like it better where it is anyway.
I love our couch! It is so comfortable. As you probably guessed from where all Emily's toys are I don't play the keyboard much anymore. I have to limit it to when Emily is asleep because she always wants to play it at the same time I do.

My beautiful railing. I think it's really cute! The entryway
I love the wood at the bottom of the stairs. I would like to put it in the kitchen one day if we stay here for a long time.

Our dining room
We got the kitchen table at a used furniture place and it only had 3 chairs but it's nice and big!

The Kitchen
It's a little narrow if you have 2 people working in it but that doesn't happen very often. The bags of flour and sugar aren't usually there but I don't have any 5 gallon buckets yet. Hopefully this Friday I can get some.

Don't you just love the fridge! The people who lived here before us left it here so we didn't have to buy one. Very nice!

View down the hall
The door on the left is a coat closet converted into a pantry. I'm glad they did that because we did need the extra storage space.

Our Bedroom
We still need to get a bed frame and a dresser but for now this works. We will be very grateful when it doesn't look as cluttered though

Emily's Room
She had just woken up from her nap so she was still in her crib

There's not much there but that's ok. She spends most of her time in the living room anyway. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint her room pink or purple. Maybe once I decide what color I want to paint her room I can get curtains for it. That will be nice.

The very messy study room
I debated even putting a picture of this room on here. It's kind of embarrassing.

The other side of the study room

Emily's favorite room in the house!
She loves to play in this closet. She has some books and her swim suit in there and of course she takes her blankie in there too. What a cutie!
You will just have to wait for pictures of the basement and yard. We are in the middle of a project so the basement is a mess but once we finish our project I will post pictures that too. We have a two car garage and lots of unfinished storage space down there. That's where the washer and dryer are too. We love our house!

Swimming!

Emily swimming with her friends Hyrum and Jonae
She absolutly loves to swim and she doesn't mind getting water in her face while swimming either, usually it's the end of the world.

Everyday Life

Lounging on the couch with Daddy
Lately Emily has been saying "I want Daddy" all day long, so when Daddy does come home she is pretty excited about it. She loves to spend time with her Daddy!
Emily loves to watch Daddy play Mario Kart so a couple weeks ago J.R. let Emily help him play. It was so cute!

Emily loves to swim and she loves her swimming suit. The day I took this picture she insisted on wearing her swimming suit all day. The only time I got her to take it off was during her nap and when we went to the store. She loves the pretty princeses on it!

CHEESE!!!
Emily's favorite food right now is cheese! If she even see's the cheese grater she starts saying "Chee, Chee" It's cute but it does get old after a while, especially if I don't have any cheese to give her.
Reading with Daddy

Slip n' Slide!

We decided to have a little fun with our sloped back yard so we got 2 slip n' slides, put them end to end and slid down the hill. It was so much fun for J.R. and I! Emily wasn't so sure about it but I think that was just because she doesn't like water in her face and the way we originally ran the water it came out of holes on the sides of each slip n' slide and got her right in the face. eventually we just ran the water down from the top of the slip n' slide but by then Emily was already done. We did decide that we need a third slide because by the time you get to the relatively flat part of the yard you are going so fast that you can't stop. We hope that another one will give us time to slow down on something other than grass.

Clothes!

Emily loves to try on clothes so when J.R. and I decided to hang pictures it was the perfect distraction. It was so convenient too because I had padded the pictures with clothes that I thought she might fit into by the time we got here. They are still a little big but that makes it easier to play dress up with them! This dress has butterfly's all over it. It is one of her favorite dresses to play with right now. I think it will be a while before she can wear it though because it's still pretty big on her.
Let's see if I can wear two at the same time!

Ok, so it's not perfect but it'll do for now

Dancing

Emily loves music and dancing! Many times during the day she says "song?" until I turn on some music for her and then if she doesn't like the song I put on for her she says it again until I find one that she likes. Once we have the right song playing she says "dance?" and then we dance together. She loves it and so do I. When I took this video we had only been in our house for a few days and Emily was loving all the space she had to run in!

July 2009

We finally have Internet again!
So, here's an update on our lives. We closed on our house on July 24th and started moving in immediately. We finished signing the papers at 5:30 and we had to get all our stuff out of the storage shed by 8 that night otherwise we would have been charged for another month. We barely made it. Then we came home, ate dinner, set up Emily's crib and our bed and went to sleep. We love having our own home! It's so nice to not hear noises from downstairs, or worry about how much noise we are making. Emily can scream and J.R. can stomp across the floor and case her without anyone caring. We love having a back yard too! Pebbles has enjoyed the space and Emily loves the trampoline that the previous owners left.
So here are a few pictures from July
Emily and Laura riding in a cute little train during Jonesborough Days on July 3rd.
They set up a bunch of booths and have all kinds of activities on main street in Jonesborough July 3-5th. It's a lot of fun. We will probably go again next year. Emily wasn't so sure about the train while we were on it but once we got off she wanted to get back on so I think she liked it.

Emily with Pebbles ball and her sippy cup in the yard of the place we were staying before we moved into our house. She was trying to play fetch with Pebbles but she kept running away with the ball in her hand.

Emily and Pebbles
They have so much fun together! They also get into a lot of trouble together! Now that we are in our house Emily loves to let Pebbles inside and then she runs to her room and calls our "Doggy!" until he comes running and then she shuts the door to her room so they can play together. Pebbles is not supposed to come in the house but she always wants him to.

Emily on the swing at the Nichol's house. She loves to swing, but for some reason she doesn't ever smile while she is on one. Maybe she gets too relaxed.

The Nichol's kept their house very hot at night so my Mom made Emily some pajama's that were nice and cool. She slept much better once we got them.

Emily playing in our very own cupboards! Yay! She is holding Daddy's empty Sprite bottle. J.R. got her hooked on it. Whenever we go out to eat he gets Sprite just because he knows she likes it a lot and he loves to share it with her.

Emily sitting in a kitchen drawer. We baby proofed after she went to bed that night and the next day when she tried to get into the cupboards and drawers and discovered that they didn't open she said "nohoho" in such a sad voice I actually felt bad for doing it!

Emily feeding Pebbles on our back deck

Dump! One of her favorite words right now is dump. Usually it's ok because it's just dumping toys out of a bucket or filling up and dumping a cup of water in the bath tub but occasionally it is bad and it's hard to be upset with her because it's so cute to hear her say Dump.
