May

We took a trip to Rexburg Idaho April 27 - May 5th in order to get things set up for our business. Yes, you did read that right. We are moving to Rexburg on June 29th and we are opening up our own Podiatry clinic! J.R. decided in October that he wanted to start his own business so we have had a few crazy months getting everything organized and all the paperwork filled out. I am going to be working with J.R. as a Podiatric Medical Assistant. I took a class and everything! My sister Becky graduates from BYU-Idaho in July and then she is going to work as our secretary.

Enough of that stuff.... On to the May pictures!!

Emily and her cousin April playing in Grandma and Grandpa's power wheels Jeep! Grandpa thought Emily would want to play with the Jeep as soon as we got to their house so he had the jeep waiting in the driveway. When we pulled up he told Emily she could drive it but she didn't want to, instead she gave Grandpa a 2 minute lecture on how she is too young to drive! She let April, who is one week younger than her, drive it instead!

April and Emily waiting for their dinner!

Grandma and Emily played lots of games together. I think Grandma lost every game they played too.

Grandpa got a wisdom tooth pulled while we were there and Emily thought he needed a bandaid to make it feel better. She put a Little Mermaid bandaid on his cheek. She's so sweet!

3 days after we got back home to Tennessee I took Emily to Wallabies for a birthday party and I let her stay until they closed. She has so much fun there! Wallabies is a place with lots of huge blow up slides!
She's at the top of the slide here, its kind of hard to see her.

Someone at church gave Emily this beautiful dress! She got it at a consignment sale a few years ago for her daughter. She only paid $2 for it!

Emily learned how to pump in February or March and now she loves to swing even more because she can go as high as she wants to and she doesn't have to wait for me to push her! I am enjoying the added freedom at the park too!

Poor Pebbles, he loves marshmallows and Emily likes to eat them in front of him! Good thing he's a good dog and doesn't try to take them from her.

Emily got this hat for her birthday last year and never wanted to wear it until now. She even wants to wear it to the park on 80 degree days! Silly girl!

April

Since we are trying to sell our house we redid the flower garden in the front yard to give our house more curb appeal. It looked great for about a week and then all the flowers died and didn't come back. Unfortunatly we didn't do our research on the flowers. They are Azaleas and they only bloom once a year. At least the realtor got the pictures while the flowers were still blooming! The bushes still look good and overall it looks much better than it did before we put the flowers in.

Grandma and Bapa sent Emily a new dress. She loves it!

Dying Easter eggs! Emily got brave enough to put the eggs in the dye this year. She was concentrating really hard here!

Showing off her pretty eggs. She especially liked the pink ones!

She put lots of stickers on the eggs...

Easter morning! The Easter Bunny hid her basket this year but it didn't take her long to find it in the morning!

Mommy and Emily sharing a Midnight Truffle blizzard at Dairy Queen! That is my favorite kind of blizzard!

Pebbles and Emily watching J.R. mow the lawn

Emily chillin' in the backseat on our trip to Idaho. It's a 30 hour drive from Johnson City, TN to Rexburg, ID and we drove straight through. The only times we stopped were for gas. Emily did great! She didn't complain at all until we were about 3 hours away and then all she said was "Are we close yet?" Amazing for a 4 year old or anyone for that matter!

March

Emily and her cousin Wesley going for a walk around the neighborhood. It was a windy day but still nice for the beginning of March.

Going shopping with 2 kids was a lot different than with just one. The most challenging part was when we would go to Kroger, Emily would want to push the little basket and so would Wesley. Thankfully they both listened pretty well and they didn't run anybody over. They got close though! They almost knocked things off the shelves several times too.

J.R. loved having a little boy around, it made us both want another baby even more than we already do!

Emily started making her bed all by herself! She came and got me one day and said "Mom, come into my room, I want to show you something!" I followed her and this is what I saw, a very well made bed. I was impressed!

I went to a consignment sale and found some Disney puzzles for Emily. Daddy helped her put them together for the first time. Now she puts them together all by herself almost everyday!

I love how early spring comes in Tennessee! We had so many beautiful colors for most of March. These pretty purple trees were at the park. I wish I had taken more pictures of all the other colors around here since this is our last spring in Tennessee. I definitely won't miss all the allergies that came along with those beautiful blossoms! J.R. won't miss having to mow the lawn from the second week of March through the end of October either.

a close up of the blossoms

Emily wanted to be in all the pictures!

Another close up...these blossoms looked more pink than the other ones.

The walkway into the park is lined with purple blossoms! This picture isn't the greatest but you get the idea, it was very pretty.

Emily's first piggy tails of the summer! She's so cute!

I love this tree in our backyard. I love the pink blossoms!

Close up of one of the blossoms

Emily finally let me spin her on a tire swing and now she loves it! Daddy took her to the park on one of their Daddy Daughter Dates and she outlasted 3 other kids on the tire swing!

We went to Olive Garden to use up a gift card we got for Christmas and all Emily wanted was olives. She thought it was great that she could get olives at Olive Garden. She still talks about it too!

February

Emily is such a girly girl, she loves to help me shop! She especially loves going to Kroger so she can push the little basket around. She listens really well and so far she hasn't run into anyone!

Emily was begging me to let her go swimming in February but it was still cold outside so we compromised a little. I let her go swimming the bath tub with her swimming suit on! She had lots of fun!

Emily stopped taking naps in February but some days were still a bit much for her. This was on the way home after a Valentines Day cookie decorating part. We had been in the car for about 10 minutes when Emily said "Mom, there's something wrong with my eyes." I said " What's wrong with your eyes?" and she said " They don't want to stay open!" she was asleep soon after that.

Daddy got Emily a Valentines Day present! Just the other day Emily said "Mother's day is for you Mom and Father's day is for Daddy and Valentines day is for me!"

Emily is getting very good at Mario Kart on the Wii! It's lots of fun to play with her!

Emily's little cousin Wesley came to stay with us for 3 weeks near the end of February. Emily loved having a little friend to play with all the time. I loved having someone else around to keep her busy. The weather was really nice the whole time he was here so we did a lot of playing outside! Wesley is 2 years old.

Emily and Wesley playing the piano!

January

I know it's been a really long time since I updated my blog so I'm going to try and do some catching up.
Here's what we did in January!
I attempted to learn how to French Braid. Here's my first attempt. It wasn't as bad as I thought it as going to be and Emily loved it!

Emily started having some bad dreams in January so she slept in our room a few times. This time we woke up to find her sleeping on Pebbles bed. She told us later that she didn't want to wake us up so she just went to sleep on the floor. She's so cute!

Emily has really started using her imagination lately. It's so fun to watch her play with her toys and make things up! She sitting in a little rocking chair that I had when I was a little girl. My Dad and Uncle made the chair and my Mom painted it.

Reading to her baby...

Playing with her stuffed dog, Spot!

Spinning Spot and Fluffy on the spinny chair!

Emily loves to play memory games and she is really good at them. I actually have to try to beat her now!
