We decided to build a fence for Emily and Pebbles so I could let them play in the yard without having to worry about Emily getting tangled up in Pebbles chain. Usually when we would go outside I would let Pebbles off his chain so he wouldn't wrap Emily up in it but then I had to keep calling him and sometimes running after him. It was a bit stressfull to spend time outside but now, I love it and so does Emily!
Emily comming out to help!
She got the marker back
We didn't like the crooked tops very much.
It's kinda hard to build a fence like this one on a steep slope.
We liked this one a lot. It looks good and there are no big gaps at the bottom
Finished!
Here is what it looks like now!

The other side of the yard
The pipes are on the grass because it rained so hard last Saturday that it ripped our pipes out of the cement and took them down stream. I should have taken a picture of what our flooded yard looked like. It was pretty bad
We think it looks really good
Looking down into the yard
From the time we got the supplies to the time we finished it took 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks we got the posts up and 9 pannels of pickets. The 3rd week we dropped Emily off at a babysitters every evening and worked until 9. We ended up redoing 8 of the 9 pannels we had previously put up. Needless to say we were very tired of the project by the time we were done.
We Love Our Fence!
Great job on the fence guys! It looks great. It is so nice to have an enclosed backyard for the kids to play in. Hopefully Emily isn't too much of a climber though. . . I think my boys would probably be able to get over that without too much trouble. Maybe I am underestimating the height. . . .
ReplyDeleteyou're right. We could only make it 4 feet high because of the regulations of the neighborhood. we put the pretty side of the fence facing inside the yard so that it would be harder for her to climb out of but I'm sure she will eventually climb over it. Right now the only thing she has ever tried to climb is her crib and she is always trying to get back in it!
